This is a process by which pictures and lettering can be printed direct from computer onto self adhesive vinyl and other materials.

This allows for detailed designs to be applied to either signs or vehicles that would previously have been hand painted or screenprinted thereby making the cost prohibitive.
These images were applied to a land train at the Eden Project

So if your requirements require the preparation of full colour detailed images then this could provide the answer.
